I think I would ask my parents their advice as they have been married a long time!  It is important to understand the way a mariage works.  They say a mariage is hard.  You need to make compromises, you need to listen and you need to share.  I think my parents have a good mariage and I respect their ideas and advice.  I have friends who's parents do not get along but are still together.  I think it would be difficult for them to give us good advice.  My parents talk every night during dinner about their day and they laugh a lot.  I listen to what they have to say and I respect their point of view.
